Energy Balls

Are you ever in the mood for a snack that doesn’t make you feel too heavy, but you don’t want to feel hungry afterward? Try energy balls! Don’t let the name discourage you – you won’t be bouncing off the walls after the first bite. According to Absolute Cycle, energy balls are filled with nutrients, made with superfood and whole food, high in protein, healthy carbs, fats, and fiber, which helps build lean muscle mass, boost energy, and aid weight maintenance.

They are great to eat before your workout, after your workout, and just as a snack between meals. There tons of different recipes and flavor combinations so it’s pretty hard to get bored. And they are easy to make! Absolutely no baking involved. So far the recipes that are in heavy rotation in our home are the peanut butter/chocolate chip/coconut energy balls, and the carrot cake bites. Gimme Some Oven has a lot more recipes (at the bottom of the page), so let me know what you’ve tried and what you like!
