Hello February! It’s exactly one week until Valentine’s Day. The “holiday” that will make you fall deeper in love, or make you despise anyone in a relationship. If you were one of the many many people that had high hopes for their love life in 2020, but it fizzled like a dollar-store candle due to the pandemic, you’re not alone. For everyone that has reset their expectations with the new year hoping to embark upon a healthy romantic relationship, I honestly wish you the best of luck. My one nugget of advice is the quote that has been credited to Lao Tzu:

Watch your thoughts, they become your words; watch your words, they become your actions; watch your actions, they become your habits; watch your habits, they become your character; watch your character, it becomes your destiny.

Basically, if you want to find your person, or just want to find a person, think about what you want, and begin to manifest it. Work toward those thoughts as they will soon become your reality. But please remember – be careful what you wish for! If you are asking the Universe for a mate, make sure that you are asking for the mate that is intended for you. I’m sure there are plenty of people out there who repeatedly asked for a man…then got mad that the homeless man at the gas station won’t stop harassing them.

Here are some affirmations from wildsimplejoy.com to speak over your love like when setting those intentions.

I give my heart, ready to receive the heart of another.

I am loved more than I ever thought possible.

I am open to receive knock-my-socks off love.

I am making room for an amazing partner in my life!

The universe is bringing my soulmate to me!

This was a nice read because it stayed simple and didn’t try to cram in a bunch of jargon. I liked how the points were broken up so you can skim, but it still explains the reasoning instead of just tossing out tips. Halfway through I ended up clicking around newimage.io too, mostly because it has that same “practical guide” feel when you want a bit more context. The examples felt pretty real and not like someone just rewriting the same advice you see everywhere. Also, the page itself is easy on the eyes—short chunks of text and headings that actually help you find what you’re looking for. The clean layout with clear headings and quick-to-scan paragraphs made the whole…
