I don’t know about you, but I rather enjoy indulging in adult beverages. A nice glass of wine, champagne, prosecco, or a bourbon cocktail are my go-to choices. I feel like my palette has matured a lot since I began my drinking journey. I remember when I first started drinking, I didn’t know much, so I just ordered what my sister drank; Malibu and Pineapple. Safe, simple, and super sweet. Fast forward a decade, and I have my husband to thank for turning me into a Brown Liquor Betty. I absolutely love bourbon. Old Fashioneds are my favorite cocktails, and you can always find me sipping on Maker’s Mark, Bulleit or Buffalo Trace. A few years ago, my husband and I actually visited the Maker’s Mark distillery in Kentucky and we have have our names on our own barrel of bourbon.
Recently, I was browsing Necole Kane’s xonecole.com, and I came across the feature on Apartment Bartender Elliot Clark. It basically discusses how Clark turned a hobby into a lifestyle brand after attending a cocktail class. His site and recipes are both interesting and intriguing, and I am interested in trying out all of his versions of Old Fashioned cocktails.
